I have a problem with frequent urination

Frequent urination occurs in between 7-13% of women. It is frequently associated with the pressing need to urinate or urge incontinence which, in this case, is treated first.

In cases of isolated urinary frequency (defined as more than 7 times in 24 hours) the treatment is more complicated. It is necessary to rule out a bladder infection  or any anatomical reasons (urinary tumor, an enlarged diaphram putting pressure on the bladder, or even pregnancy).

It is also important to compare whether there is more frequent urination during daytime or nighttime. Nighttime polakisuria can be caused by a change in the production of a hormone known as antidiuretic hormone (ADH) which is usually produced especially at night. This hormone can be influenced pharmacologically by the application of this hormone (beneathe the tongue) in the evening hours.

A further important point is the evaluation as to whether this problem might not be influenced by the use of certain medicines such as those used against high pressue (antidiuretic) or by the drinking of various beverages (beer, coffee, strong tea...).

It is also important to know whether the situation is not being worsened by a strained nerves. Sometimes ordinary anxiety before an exam, interview, or even before our examination.

If no reason is found, then the basic aim is to achieve at least a partial success through your own motivation because with some simple management and training of the bladder.
